The following non-compliance issues have been extracted from the 2022 Jail Inspection:

Sanitation

The correctional facility inspectors found the level of sanitation and cleanliness to be acceptable
on the day of inspection, however reports indicated the facility sewer system is not functioning
properly, allowing on occasion for sewage to back up through floor drains and adjacent toilets.
This is causing contamination events requiring human waste cleanup and disposal. This
unsanitary condition needs to be corrected.

Standard 011: Single Cell Square Footage and Illumination Requirements

A single cell must provide a minimum of 70 square feet if confinement exceeds ten hours in a 24- hour period. All single cells must provide a minimum of 35 square feet of unencumbered space. Illumination must be at least twenty foot-candles at desk level. Observation: Initial inspection resulted in a finding of non-compliance based on lighting conditions. The WCCC submitted a corrective action plan which was accepted resulting in a final finding of compliance.

Standard 090: Prohibition of Abuse and Harassment

Correctional facilities shall have a written policy and procedure to protect inmates from personal
abuse, corporal punishment, personal injury, disease, property damage, neglected unsanitary
conditions, and harassment. Observation: Initial inspection of policy 605.2, 606.2, 806.2, and procedures resulted in a finding of noncompliance due to deteriorated plumbing. The WCCC
submitted a corrective action plan which was accepted resulting in a final finding of compliance.
